  • 68W Medic Specialty?

    Hello,
I'm currently a 68W but I don't ship until next July for Basic. I am technically a "68W Healthcare Specialist/Ambulance Driver" with the 252 CAB out of Fayetville NC. My question is, I would really like to go on and specialize as a flight medic with a medivac. I'm also thinking about going active a couple years after AIT. What is my best bet on getting a spot for flight medic training?

skyreep, The flight medic positions are most generaly tough to get into. The best answers would be to contact the unit that is in your state and see what they require. I know many flight medics and they have all said that they had to have a min. of 3 years exp as a 68W and be a E-5. This could be just a requirment of the unit they are in but if you read the flight medic school web page it is only open to E-4 and above. Good luck and never give up.
