  • Approved RE-4 Waiver in 2009

Can I still join even though my RE-4 was approved?

Some recruiter says I can't join because I have a RE-4, but what's the point of approving my RE-4 to reenlist if they know I can no longer reenlist.

I understand new fiscal year is coming up and I really wanna make sure I can reenlist this year...

    Thanks!

A waiver is usually only good for 6 months to a year. If you received a reenlistment waiver for a RE-4 discharge in 2009, you should have enlisted then, because it is NO longer any good.

The Army National Guard is NOW not accepting any RE-4 discharges for reenlistment (No waivers authorized).
