  • Getting in Shape for Guard, looking for an addition to routine!

Hey everyone, hope all is well! I'm currently getting back into shape to go into the guard and I wanted some opinions as far as the best fitness activities lean the body not only quicker, but effectively too.

I currently walk/jog/run a mile every morning at 5, then alternate days with sit-ups/pushups/squats. I've been pretty effective with this and have gotten my mile run down to 10 minutes. I'd pass the sit-up test, but still have a ways on my pushups.

One thing I've noticed is that my endurance level when running needs some help, and I'm looking into what other physical activities would help me boost that, plus give an extra cardio workout to my schedule.

Keep pushing yourself in your 1 mile run. I recommend running in regards to time and not distance. Try jogging your usual 10 minutes and tack on an additional 30 seconds every week until your running 30 minutes total in the mornings. The key is to build your endurance and in return allow you to run a much faster 1 or 2 mile run at ease.
