  • BAH eligibility

How do I know if I'm getting BAH during BCT and AIT training? I'm married with dependents and I pay rent. I asked my recruiter and he said that it would be automatic since I already provided him with my wife's marriage certificate, ssn and my dependents birth certificates. I'm just wondering because he didn't ask for my rent/lease information. Do they ask me these information again before I ship out?

You'll also see it on your LES. Half the amount every pay period. I hsd an issue with mine and it was corrected/back pay given relatively quickly. But....this was with Active duty people handling it after all.

Do we qualify for a paid off house during deployments as a single soldier? I don't think I do. Do I qualify for anything if I don't? Who's the BAH expert here?

No, you don't. If you don't have payments, then no BAH as a single soldier.
