  • At age 60 I will be short qualifing years

I am a National Guard officer inactive and I am 58 years old. I had a 10 year break and had not done a good job managing my points. At age 60 I will have 17 plus good years. As an officer will I at least still retain my commision and be able to use commissary privileges?

No. Bad situation to be in. You're screwed.

You require that 20 year letter.

Agreed. I'm interested though what you mean specifically by "inactive" status. Are you using the commissary now? (ie, have an CAC card?)

Pretty sure he just simply means he is not on active duty.
