  • Air National Guard vs Army National Guard.

I am a HS senior and I am looking for tuition assistance...what can the Air NG and or the Army NG offer me as far as tuition assistance? Are they the same? How do they differ?

Indiana have a tuition waiver for undergraduate studies. You wont need to tap into any of the true "tuition assistance" money advertised. Save it in case you want to go to graduate school. Either component can offer you the waiver in that state, for a PUBLIC school.

I talked to an Army NG recruiter and he said I would be paid around $600 a month...$200 and some more if I score over 50 on my ASVAB. I looked on the Air NG site and I didn't see much in regards to being able to attend college and do the one weekend a month and two weeks a year. I am just trying to understand which route would be best for me if I want to go to college and use the Army/Air NG as a stepping stone to be able to afford it.

So, either way I go Army or Air...my tuition would be paid for?

                Yes, as Mr.Incog said however........

What do you want to do for a MOS in the military? What do you want to do after college? Those 2 points are going to dictate what is best for you.

Another important question to ask is what experiences are you looking for in the military? How much are you willing to sacrifice?
