  • applying for 1606 GI Bill

I have all my paper work ready to go to apply for the GI bill along with a Notice of Basic Eligibility form that was signed by my readiness NCO. Everything else was signed by my commander.

    Here's the issue:

My national guard Liaison at my university says that my a signature from either my readiness nco or my commander on my NOBE is acceptable, but the veterans affair office at my university tells me that i need to have a completely separate signature from my commander or my readiness nco. The office claims that I need a signature from someone inside my brigade that specializes in the GI Bill.

So who's right? i'm getting conflicting answers. my rotc cadre aren't much help either since all of them are active duty. The last thing i was to do is send something in and find out weeks later that i have to reapply.

Since the veterans affairs lady has the power, whether she's right or not isn't immediately relevant. Get her what she wants -- another signature.
