  • 3 day drill weekends?

How does pay work for a 3 day drill weekend? I thought it would only be 2 days, but apparently my new unit does 3 day weekends. I'd like to know how that affects my pay. Additionally, how does BAH work during annual training? Ours is 3 weeks (again, 1 1/2x longer) and I'm having trouble deciphering the regulations and such.

Depends on how many "muta"s (drill periods there are). A normal weekend drill is really four periods, so your pay for one drill is multiplied by four. Most 3 day drills are MUTA 5's that start in the evening so you would get paid for five periods.

BAH during AT will be paid at the non locality rate also called BAH type II. Location does not matter for purposes of BAH if you are on active duty for less than 30 days.

That's unit-dependent, obviously. My unit only does MUTA 6s for our 3-day drills. But the point is, like Incognito said, take the MUTA number times pay-per-day for your pay grade, that's what you make.
