  • Pay Scale

I have been told that you get active duty pay if you are training for longer than 30 days. When I look at the pay scale it shows form low end to high end. What determines where on the scale you are?

you enlist as an E1, unless you qualify for early promotions.

I have a college degree so they told me I would go in as a E4. I just noticed that an I4 payscale goes from 1947 to 2363 per month. How do you know where on the scale you are at?

What do you mean? One part of the scale is rank, the other is time in service. If you enlist as an E4, it will be at the lowest E4 pay on the scale.

You get active duty pay for being on active duty...whether it be one day, 30, or 500....the over 30 days is the requirement to receive full BAH

*snicker* Although I have to agree with aj...it goes by years in service so unless you are prior service that would put you as '<2'

              HENCE: $1980

Probably should learn how to read a chart btw

Your questions act like you were looking at the chart. But to find a chart, you can go to google and type 2012 military pay tables or go to http://www.armytimes.com/

scroll down to the middle of the page where it says pay charts (under pay and benefits). Click that.

                  http://www.armytimes.com/money/pay_charts/

You can use the calculator or the tables below it.

The point is that is you are new, the under 2 table applies to you.
