I heard somewhere that education benefits were available only if your state has the funds, is that true? Also how do I know if they will be available if I join? I live in South Carolina btw. I want to join the reserve or national guard, and the main reason is I want to go to college with out getting into tremendous dept. I haven't made my mind up yet on which one to join. I like the idea of being state controlled and doing missions around my community and state, but I also like the idea of being in part of a bigger base and military community. Can anyone answer these questions a maybe share some stories of their experience in the guard.
