Was that the proposition to add pull ups to the test? Good because I blow at those.

I'm relieved only insofar that we just dodged countless LODs from older soldiers breaking their hips when they were forced to do a standing long jump and such. It seemed reasonable when you tested 22 year olds, but got kind of hinkey when you considered the majority of the 57 - 60 demographic population doing it.

If they just replaced the situps with the plank and cut the 2 mile run down to a max of a mile and a half that would be perfect. No equipment required and no training partner needed.

Over 55 don't have to do the run if they don't want to anyways, I'm sure there would have been the same option for the other excercises too.

News gets to us at the bottom slower.

Happy because, the way the new PT test was setup, it would take all day to test. I kinda like the one we got.

Though, I'm cool with changing out pushups with pullups.

Aw, I actually thought the video was interesting. That's kind of the workout I like to do with the Cross Fit, kettle bells, and functional movements. Kind of bummed they didn't go through with it. I did giggle at the Funoodles a little bit.

The Army doesn't have the money for pull up bars.

Hehehe. If the Marines can afford it then we surely can

After spending 3 weeks in Ft. Leonardwood this summer I would have to disagree with you. Pull up bars all over the place. In front of all the baracks and at every PT field. I even saw them outside of most chow halls.

Pull ups AND pushups in one test=real test of core and upper muscular endurance. The rower is not a bad ab exercise either, far better then outdated sit ups that tax the hip flexors more then the abs right before a 2 mile run.
