I'm very interested in joining the Guard. In fact, I absolute know I am.
The only problem is this: I live in Vermont, but I will be going to school out of Vermont. The National Guard benefits will hopefully get me through college. The thing is, how do I arrange joining another state's Guard when I'm in a different state already? I will be talking with my state recruiter very soon, but more immediate information or knowledge on the situation will be much appreciated.
    Thanks very much!

You should look into the education benefits the Guard offers in whichever state you're going to school in. Some States offer 100% tuition while others only offer grants to certain schools. If the State you're going to school in doesn't provide great education benefits you may be better served by Federal Tuition Assistance.

Keep in mind, you can join the Guard in one State, complete your education and transfer back to VT later to work & live if you choose.

      Best of luck!
