  • Short on bodies?

I am curious if there are any states that are actually low and in need of Guardsmen? Is there any particular MOS that the guard finds it hard to fill? I know that with the economy in the shape it is in now it is highly unlikely but I figured I would ask.

    Thank You.

I would say there is no quick answer to this question but in actuality it just isn't a very good question. With over 350,000 Army National Guard soldiers in 53 states and territories it is a dynamic organization with soldiers continually entering and exiting from thousands of units. Overall our strength is high while there is a variance from state to state by a margin of percentage points. What jobs or units are hard to fill is again, very unit specific. We have one unit for example that has struggled to maintain over 85% strength primarily because of its location.
