Well my Eas is coming up and have decided to join the national guard after moving back home. I talked to a recruiter briefly who said if I enlisted I would be a specialist and fast track to Sgt I have been a Cpl for 2 years now and would have been a Sgt before I Eas had it not been for the drawdown taking place. I was fine with this at first but it's been eating away at me the past few days that I'd have to be a spc due to the fact that it would be hypocritical of me since that is what we call our weak Corporals, or E-3.5, so how long exactly would this fast track take and what does it consist of? Also how much different are the customs and courtesies with regards to NCOs and troops? Another thing I forgot to ask is whether or not I'd get the service uniforms issued to me or would I have to buy them? I already read a previous post stating that ACU's were issued by the unit.
