What if you have a felony and want to join the Guard?

You should go speak with a recruiter. A felony will probably prohibit you from enlisting.

Enlistment of any individual with a conviction or adverse adjudication for a felony is prohibited. You should still contact a local recruiter to give them details on your situation though. Enlistment regulations change frequently and a recruiter will be able to keep you updated.

That doesn't matter, still disqualifies you currently.

Probably that part is what he did not understand...

                  "still" ~ a persistent state.

In all fairness, I think the OP is asking if once it's expunged, will it be visible on his record and considered a disqualification. To my knowledge, the answer is yes. Once you've been convicted, there's still record of that even if is expunged later.

I always recommend pulling an FBI background check. If it is not being reported now, it certainly won't be reported once its expunged. I have come across more people in the world that thought they had a felony or conviction for something when it wasn't even close. Some people just are ignorant to the legal system and think that if they get a ticket for 60 in a 50 they are forever branded and their life is over.
