To catch you up on my story. I am prior service Army NBC (now CBRN) and I was in the process of filling out my PTH when I tore my ACL and meniscus playing basketball. My ACL was gone, replaced by a tendon from my hamstring, and the meniscus had to have about 20% "shaved off" according to my Dr. I am 33, married with a 4 y/o son, and Iím a Deputy Sheriff. I have always regretted leaving the military, and now that my civilian career is going well I want to peruse the Military again. I had surgery in March, and I am still going through rehab. The strength in my knee is getting better, but I am having issues jogging. The impact of running creates a lot of pain and I donít know if it is just something I am going to have to push through or if there are other factors here. I will know more on the 23rd which is my next Dr. appointment. I have to wait 1 year from date of surgery to attempt at re-enlisting. So I have plenty of time to get my knee to where it needs to be. But this is the most mentally frustrating process I have ever been through. There is nothing that can be done to speed up the recovery process. I have read and re-read threads on military.com for workouts that I can do (certain exercises are off limits for now) and for mental motivation. I need someone to go D.S. on my a$$ and remind me of what Iím trying to accomplish. I think being assigned to a desk @ work while I rehab is also draining me of motivation... Any and all words of wisdom would be appreciated. I came here because I know people on this forum will not hold back.
