I'm going to turn 42 in July, Was told the guard would take you at 42, so Must I be signed up before I turn 42 or can I sign after 42 as long as it's before I turn 43.

A recruiter will better answer this before long, I'm sure. But I believe the day you turn 42 you are too old.

If you have no prior service, you must be at Basic Training no later than your 42d birthday. That means that you better get your act together now -- sign and ship ASAP.

Hi,
If you are not prior service you have to ship out to BT before you turn 42,just like the Major said.
I hope you are in ok shape, because the over 40 Physical requires more check ups than the younger applicants.
Like NKG check for cardio or heart, special eye test and other not so confy test. If you know what I mean.LOL
I'm not telling you this to scare you just to inform you.
I came up with High Cholesteral, but I got a waiver.
Goodluck,
I admire you for wanting to serve at your age.
