I am prior service, and I would qualify for everything as soon as I lose some weight, and probably have to take the ASVAB and MEPS since it has been so long since I served. I am looking at several career fields and am wondering which one has the most potential for promotion to WO.

The Enlisted MOSs are:

27D Legal Administrator
96B All Source Intelligence Technician
42A, F 79T Military Personnel Technician
92G Food Service

Is there an age limit for prior service other than the rule that you must complete your 20 years by age 60?

All source is the only one I know nothing about.

I picked the others because of several reasons. I have an interest in Law, and would enjoy that. I had an administrative specialist MOS, so that covers Military Personnel, and I was in restaurant management for 8.5 years, so that covers food service. Right now I'm a teacher, and here in Texas we are going to get an of extra week off starting next summer, and I could really use the extra dollars.

What I'm trying to say is that since I'm thinking and planning to join, I might as well choose an MOS that aligns with a Warrant Officer position.

Thanks for the help.

You should speak with your state's Officer Strength Manager or Command Chief WO. They can give you guidance on the availability of positions in your state, and other relevant guidance. Perhaps some of those career fields have more vacancies than others. The location of the vacancy is relevant also.

Personally, I recommend pursuing the career that you find most fulfilling. What good is it to work hard to get a good job that you hate?
