Hello everyone. I asked these questions and so did a few other people and now I know first hand and thought I would pass it on before someone else thinks the same thing as me.

If a recruit has any type of heart murmer, innocent or not. You are disqualified from enlisting.

I had my hopes up twice because I went to two different doctors and had them check me, neither one of them heard a mermur.

I sent my physical (clean bill of health) to the MEPS and they wanted to be sure so they sent me to the cardiologist.

The cardiologist checked in a way the other doctor didnt and indeed found a murmer. My murmered heart dropped when I heard that.

He did an ECHO and upon evaluating it said it was an 'Innocent' murmer and place absolutly NO restrictions on my and said Im as fit as a horse.

My recruiter talked with the MEPS about my situation and still no go. I was disqualified.

So if you have a murmer, innocent or not. You cannot enlist.

Thanks for the help that each of the recruiters here had given me. I really appreciate it.

Those that are enlisted, stay safe.

Did you run a waiver and get rejected by National Guard Bureau?

yes there is a medical waiver for a heart murmer. you need to get all records, tests and such on it, the recruiter should know something about it if he doesnt he can find out.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I talked to my recruiter yesterday and he said he spoke with his boss and they are going to try it. I am waiting to gather all my medical records from last week at the cardiologist to give to him.

Not sure how long the process takes but whatever the outcome I'll post it here.

Thanks again.

Just an update: I recieved my records from the cardiologist and gave them to my recruiter who then sent them to the MEPS. The head doctor was out on vacation all last week so I was told that I could know something by the end of this week.

This is the "hurry up and wait" situation my recruiters speaks about.
