Have you already enlisted, or are you DEP? If one or the other it shouldn't be too hard to find someone with a common goal as far as fitness is concerned, hit the recruiter and ask him if one of his other potential recruits is in similar shoes! Also, if all else fails...music while running/working out can help a bit.

You're still a nice time off from going to BCT then, but there's def. no issue with starting Fitness training early. I'd suggest the method I prescribed earlier, depending on what your fitness level is, request pairing up with another recruit. Also if you're solid about enlisting in the Guard, then RSP will also help to get you in shape. Now if you think you're unable to pass even the half-APFT at meps and/or are over the weight limits: PM me with your current fitness level and goals and I can work out a training program for you.
Good Luck

i'm kind of having the same problems as you are. I know how hard it is to lose weight but what i found that works is just keep trying watch what you eat constantly i mean you don't have to cut everything you like out of your diet just limit how much you eat and exercise a lot. listen to music when working out it keeps me motivated especially when i am extremly extremly tired.
hope it helped

At meps during the physical do you do any sit ups or push ups tests?

I'm sorry, scratch what I said. You don't do a half APFT at MEPs, sorry!
