Just thought I would give information on my first Rsp. It was incredible we started out the morning with PT test which I scored 47 push ups and 53 situps in a minute (We didnt do two minutes not sure why) and i did the mile in 6:20 this wasnt hard at all for all that might be a little unsure the requirements to pass RSP is like 17 pushups 20 situps maybe and and 830 mile it went something like that. First Rsp you start out as red phase so after i did my PT test (which is every RSP you do pt test) we ate and I got to experience my first MRE...... Not the greatest meal in the world but the heating of the food is cool :). After meal being red phase you spend the rest of the weekend in a classroom learning stuff like: Army values, Soldiers creed(isnt required to be memorized the first weekend), General Orders, Phonetic Alphabet, and Ranks and how to report to them and respond to them, we also worked on movements (which is very easy to get). My Rsp started at 1000 and ended sunday at 1330. But it was a great first RSP and for everybody that will get to do it, it is very simple as long as you show respect and make an attempt to learn. Just thought I would throw this out knowing alot of the guys that enlisted a few years back did not get a chance to do this before BCT and i feel that it is a great addition to help the transition into BCT. Ok thanks

Cool, so did you do RSP drill the same month as your MEPS trip?

Sounds like you are in great shape, but keep working at it. if you can score 300 on pt test, that is something to be **** proud of. also, MREs will taste delicious when you are in BCT, especially on ftx. just about anything does.

Remeber MRE's are 4000 to 6000 calories in each meal. Designed to eat one a day during war time conditions. Don't want to eat to many as to gain weight

RSP is there for you to learn alot about the Army before you ship to BCT. I'm in RSP now and it's not bad. We PT test every Saturday, learn Army values, Soldier Creed, General Orders, Rank and basic marching skills. On Sunday we go on a company run which is usually 3-5 miles. Come back and do the same as Saturday.

You get issued 1 set of BDU's, PT gear Dog tags, and Military ID in what is called Red Phase. I got issued that on my first drill weekend. You'll be ahead of the rest when you ship to BCT, so pay attention and do as your told and you'll enjoy RSP. :D

i'm so excited!! after watching teh video's of basic training i know that in the army is where I belong. and that military is going to turn me into the best person i can be. i'm a senior in college and i've been waiting my whole life for something that'll push my boundaries and will build my confidence!! i'm glad they have RSP, and that the ARNG is taking the time to pretrain recruits (so we don't die in BCT)
