I'm currently set to leave for basic tranning on sept 20th. But now i just been considerd for a job at the local police department but i still have a medical evaluation set for august 11th. and after that they wil let me know if a deffenetly got the job. But the problem is that i am set to go off to basic tranning on sept 20th, but now the police department said that i can not go off to basic tranning untill the end part of next year or i can't go at all to basic tranning because if i get hired by the police dept then i will have to go off to the academy somewhere in sept or oct and basic tranning will conflict with it. and then they told me that it will take a whole year for me to get off of job probation so even if i left right after the academy i would get in trobule for leaving for 4 months to basic tranning and i could possible lose my job or get denied from being hired.....
I was speaking with my drill instructor and he told me that there are laws to protect me against illegal job terminations or from unlawful job denial through the ESGR program.
Would my situation be considered a reason to be concerned and to notify my recurter or the appropriate militarty personnel or am i just screwed?
