Bonus

I was discharged while I was active duty for a problem I've recovered from. I did not finish my original service obligation. Now that I am just about over this problem, I was hoping get cleared for a waiver and join the National Guard. I was reading the below information on Military.com. Does this mean I will not be eligable for any bonus at all?? Does anyone know details on this?

National Guard Prior Service Bonuses
An Enlistment Bonus of up to $15,000 may be available to prior service members who have completed their Military Service Obligation but have no more than 16 years total service. The eligibility requirements for enlistment bonuses vary. Prior Service personnel who enlist and qualify for the PS Enlistment Bonus $15,000 or $7,500 will receive the bonus under the 50/50 plan. Check with your local Recruiter for details.

In addition if you are still serving in the Inactive Ready Reserve you may qualify for an Affiliation Bonus of up to $20,000 for a six-year contract

Your Recruiter will examine your DD214 to make these determinations. Based on what you've disclosed, I don't think that you will be eligible for a bonus -- you can't get an enlistment bonus, since you've already enlisted, and you can't get a re-enlistment bonus since you haven't completed your initial obligation. Once you have completed that obligation, however, you may find yourself eligible for future re-enlistment bonuses.
