If you cherish your freedom, your country, your friends and family serving in the Army National Guard will provide you not only with the opportunity to preserve our way of life but also with the chance to acquire a significant set of skills valued by many private sector companies. In the Army National Guard (ARNG) you receive training and opportunities that will benefit you throughout your life. If you already have a career goal in the private sector, you can count on the ARNG either having a corresponding career field path or providing you with the means to enhance your knowledge and skills. A job with the Guard could be your ticket to some of the hottest industries and most coveted careers. Employers who are looking for commitment and experience know they have to look no further once they find someone with military experience in their resume.

The ARNG offers a diverse selection of specialties and occupations (MOS's) that are directly transferable to what you may already be doing in the private sector. The specialties range from the most basic skills to highly technical jobs in computer networks, fiber optics and avionics. You will normally train and work part time but will also be ready to serve your state and your country whenever and wherever you are needed. Training part time allows you to go to college or work on a full time basis. In the Guard you will become a citizen-warrior.... ready to serve anytime, anywhere. Your local recruiter can help you determine the National Guard benefits that are best suited to help you fulfill your future goals.

Yeah. . . the military has all career's but the arts. except band. but it's ok. AbnMtn was right in that the military will give me (an artist) the discipline i need to be successful in the dance world. though the physical fitness is a little, or a lot, different.
but, i still want to do it, the military, and dance. God knows why.

Fight on!

This could be considered great info only if it is coupled with all the additional information required in order to capitalize each benefit offered by the ARNG. I've seen soldiers losing their entitlements because nobody cared to help guide them to the right place.

What if I get done with a tour of duty and get home and still feel the need to shoot someone in the ***?
