Hello I am 13 years old and I want to join the guard during High School and I was wondering if any of the recruiters can tell me what to do to get ready for the guard.

I hate to sound like a corny public service commercial, but ....
1. Stay in school.
2. Don't do drugs.
3. Exercise.
4. Eat right.
5. Don't break the law.
6. Don't hang out with people who do poorly in school, use drugs, neglect their health & fitness, and break the law. If you lie down with dogs, you'll wake up with fleas.

I do not know how to emphaize this anymore than how the Major has said it. Everything you do now even under the age of 18 will stay with and haunt you for the rest of your life. It is better to do all the above and have stuff that does nothing but helps you the rest of your life.
Best thing to remember is I still hang out with and talk with no one I went to highschool with. I had a lot of great friends but soon after highschool you realize that they are really not your friends. Do not let some of your friends and the peer pressure help you make wrong or bad decisions.

Just to throw in there, believe it or not I was 13 at one time too. When someone had said to me...I recommend doing this or that....my greatest regrete in life was I didnt listen to the words that came out of their mouth after that. NORMALLY when someone says to you I wish I had done this or that...or I wish someone had told me this....or if you do this it will make life a heck of alot easier in the future.....IT IS TRUE AND LISTEN CAREFULLY! It may seem insignificant at the time, but more times then not they know what they are talking about and one day you will agree. Even at 32 years old I have to remind myself of those words. I still have family and others older then me say those things. I aplaud you for asking these questions now. You are way ahead of many others. We are very proud of you for asking the question. There is a difference however in asking for the advise and following the advise.
