If you are recieving the Kicker for enlisting in a critical MOS and then you join ROTC do you stop recieving the kicker?

Joining isn't an issue, but contracting (i.e., making a legal obligation to the ROTC program) can be. Anyone can take the ROTC classes for the first two years without obligation, but at some point you must contract. Once you contract with ROTC, you are no longer serving in the critical MOS, because you are reclassified as an SMP cadet. Ergo, you don't get the critical MOS incentives anymore.

It machts nichts, however, because ROTC cadets drawing the GI Bill get their own $350 Kicker, so you just get money from a different category.

Contracting also means that you will not get future bonus payments from your original enlistment contract, although you won't need to pay back payments already received.

i had thought that when you contract with the ROTC and you're already enlisted in the guard it's part of that dual enlistment (it has a certain name that i can't for the life of me remember off the top of my head...)

my recruiter mentioned that i would get paid by both the rotc program and also the guard for my dual enlistment. is that not right?

Serving in both ROTC and the Guard is called SMP -- Simultaneous Membership Participant. The issue becomes that certain enlistment incentives in the ARNG have conditions that are not met by SMP service.
