I am a activated Navy reservist on active duty...will be heading to the middle east this month for 9 months. Wanting to join the guard when I get demobed. Any tips for me to speed up the process when I get back. I am currently assigned to a mobile security unit ...have 9 years in.

Once demobilized, contact the local ARNG recruiting office and request that they prepare and complete a DD Form 368 (Request for Conditional Release). Have your current commander authorize the release by signing the form and return to the local recruiter who will start the process of enlisting you into the National Guard.

SFC Marrero gives excellent guidance. Do what he says.
My only recommendation is to start the process with the Guard recruiter and your USN commander 90 days prior to your release from active duty. That way, you can make a smoother and quicker transition.

Can I use my demob medical physical or do I have to go through MEPS again?
