OK I am having a very hard time and its kind of driving away from joining but I want to get some answer before I give up. I am Prior Service got out as a E-4. I am still in the IRR right now and I have lik 8 classes left to get my BS degree. I want to go in as a Officer but I keep getting the run around. Now I was told that if I join as a Officer and for some reason I would get hurt at OCS then I would not recycle and would be stuck as a E-4 in the army for the amount of time was had signed up for. Now I don't get how this could happen if I joined as a officer then it is in my contract and to change that would void my contract.

Now am I getting bad info or what because the SGT I am working with gave me a number to a LT and said let me know how it works out. I feel like the guard has all the officers they need and I just missed out. Can someone give me a little help as to how can I join as a officer because the route I have take it a dead end.

You won't join "as an officer" -- you won't be an officer until after you complete OCS.

If you meet qualifications for OCS, you can enlist with OCS in your contract. The Guard will give you the opportunity, but you need to provide the success. If you do flunk out of OCS, you'll complete your term of enlistment at your previous rank. Once you get commissioned, you'll have an entirely new service obligation of six years of drilling.

Your local recruiter can write an OCS contract. Some do it more than others, so if yours is unclear on it, speak with his NCOIC and get hooked up with someone who knows more about it.
