Retired from Air Force in 2000 as an E-7. Service included 3 years active Army, 2 years Army Reserve, then 18 years active Air Force. Now 48 years old and considering the Army National Guard. Is this possible?

Thank you for your service. If you are currently drawing retired pay, then you are ineligible for enlistment in the National Guard.

It is a possibility but its a lot of work and a long wait. You have to be reviewed by the State CSM and if you are in the retired reserves thats a whole new ball game.

Is there something different if you retire from the reserves compared to regular full time service?
