I was wondering if anyone had any experience as a 31d, CID special agent, and what they thought about it. And how applicable you feel the experience is to becoming a FBI Special Agent.

I'm weighing the Guard as one of my options to build a resume for the FBI.

Well, you couldn't just enlist as 31D you'd have to serve your time and become an E5 or E4 (promotable). As for if it would be good training or a good stepping stone for the FBI, yes it would. Basically you investigating crimes, which is what an FBI agent does. Also, on the civilian side, there are 1811 CID Agents. 1811 is the same designation given to FBI Agents. But again that is only on the civilian side.
