leaving in september you will get the mixture of both weather. it will be hot and cold. dont be scared or nervous when you get off the bus the first time. you will arrive at johnston hall at the reception battalion. they will raise their voice a little bit, but they try not to beat you up physically because they dont want anyone to get hurt before you ship to your OSUT or BCT station "Down Range." Ft. Benning is one of the toughest places to go, but its easy to get through. you will feel alot more confident after you have graduated there. oh yeah and one more thing. leave the HOOAH at the door when you get there. they will drop you fast for it :) gotta earn the right to say that by graduating. i had a lot of fun there. the training is excellent, be prepared to use all the weapons including the MK-19 automatic grenade launcher :)

the PT will challenge you. you pretty much go untill you are burnt out everyday. even if you have a "light" day haha you still hurt because of sore muscles. you do not conduct PT they day before a PT test though. depending on your run times, they put you in groups to do AGR (Ability Group Runs) every other day and you run according to your pace for certain lengths of time, and sand hill has a lot of gradual long hills. you will be challenged, especially at infantry training. there were alot of times when you think oh my god what the **** was i thinking coming to benning. then there are a lot of times when you just really love it. i miss it alot. sundays are pretty relaxed, lots of cleaning the bays and chores but no PT or training unless you are in the field. there is a lot of downtime on the qualify ranges, because well, when you get done shooting, there is still a lot of people left, and you can only clean your weapon for so long. so you can be stuck sitting down for a while, oh and dont ever get caught sleeping or nodding your eyes :) i really liked it, and if you are looking for a challenge, you will regret going anywhere but Georgia.
