Question about Interstate Transfers

Hi I had just recently joined the ARNG and I was wondering how easy is it to transfer to a unit in another state?

I'm looking to make the move to NYC not long after my training to complete school at either Columbia or NYIT.

Each state has an IST coordinator. For best results, find out those people, and keep them informed of your plans and situations, and get ahead of the power curve. Your Recruiter or Readiness NCO can tell you your current state's IST coordinator, and she'll know her counterpart in NY.
