It provides high school graduates with a college education with the return of you serving in the Army. When you graduate West Point, you are commissioned as a second liutenant in the US Army. It is EXTREMELY tough to get in. You must be a top student, top grades with lots of recommendations from teachers to senators.

On top of that, the academy is extremely tough physically, mentally, and academically. Thousands apply, few get in and I'm sure the drop out rate is very high.
