I have a few (hopefully simple) questions:
1. Can working professionals use the split option program or is it strictly for students & seasonal workers?
2. Does the split option have to run for two consecutive summers? For eg.; could you start basic in Oct. or does it have to start in the summer?
3. I have heard that there is a restriction of some MOS in the split op route. If this is true, is there a list somewhere that I could quickly refernce for this?

I am surprised to hear that, it seems like the split option would be a very useful way to bring in some more mature, "real world experienced" people in along with students.
I guess the things I have seen about seasonal workers is outdated because I have seen that in more then one of these forums?

It doesnt really matter for working professionals. Your position at you job is protected by federal law until you return from training. As for students, the HAVE to go to school so it makes sense to split their training.

Seasonal workers can do split op. All it takes is a memo stating that you are a seasonal worker. You can also ship when it is convenient to you. The big thing to remember is summer training seats are limited because of all the high school students. I have enlisted a 34 year old female that owns her own business under split op because that is the only way she could do it. All MOS's can be done split op.

Hey everyone. Digging up old topics here.
What if your spouse is going to school, and you have kids. Is split option available?

Would split option be available for someone who wants to go to the police academy between BCT and AIT?
I would never try to skip out of a deployment, but I don't want to get half way through academy and have to leave. Reimbursement only happens if you drop within the first week.
Any help would be great. This issue is one thing making me have a hard time making up my mind on what to do first - enlist or the academy.
