I was RA for 4 years and have been out for about 4 now, and something lit a fire under me and I decided to reenlist and go into the NG.. I've been waiting for about 8 months now due to some issues my recruiter was having getting my med records from the hospital. Well he finally got them, and this coming wednesday I go to MEPS.
As for my questions...I was told there may be an issue with my bonus, at first I was told I'll get half of the $15,000 in 30 days and then the other half at my 3 year mark.. now I was told it's half after 6 months, and half at the 3 year mark, can anyone rectify this? or what about if I sign a 1 year contract, then the next day re-up for 6, that should get me the bonus in lump sum after 1 year right?
And my other concern, I already know what unit I will have orders for, that unit literally just left for Iraq like a couple of days ago. ?here does that leave me once I am reenlisted? Do I get temporarily sent to another unit? Do I pack my bags and meet up with the unit in Iraq?
