Hi, I ship out for basic May 21. My MOS is 15T. Blackhawk mechanic. I was wondering what the differences between an aviation officer and a warrant officer are.

WO aviators are the flying specialists, whereas commissioned aviators have additional responsibilities on top of flying -- command, staff work, non-flying assignments. If all you want to do is fly, then pursue appointment as a warrant officer pilot. If you want to command Soldiers, and have a wider experience in the Army, then pursue appointment as a commissioned officer.
