I've been preparing, first to join the Guard, then for BCT, for about ten months now. I had a workout with a wide variety of cardio and stength training. I now have just over three months before I leave and am changing things up a bit. I have decided to only jog and do sit/push ups. My push/sit ups are fine. I'm very happy with my scores and what I can do. My running is my downfall. Completely changing the time of day also. I am waking up at 0500 each morning to be out the door by 0530 for my jog. We do half PT tests at Rsp, simular to full ones, push ups, sit ups, than running. Should I continue to do them in that order or is there a big difference to go for my jog first, then do the other two? Is there a reason why they should be done in that order? I know the benefits of not doing the push/sit ups on a daily basis, muscles do need recovery. But I think i'm going to over do it just a lil bit and might do it more than one day in a row. My running... my plan is six days a week. I slacked on this the most up until now, and truely believe i'll be better off not resting many days for cardio. I realize I could do bike or stair climber, but I believe at this point I need all the running I can do. If I start getting terrible knee or shin splint pain, i'll alter my routine accordingly.
Thanks,
Becky
