So I'm looking into enlisting to become an emt. I have a few questions about the time that I'm in basic training and AIT (All together about 9 months). I'm married with no children. While I'm receiving active duty pay will I also receive BAH to pay for my wife's housing back in oregon? I've also heard of "separation pay" but haven't seen any real info/charts on it. Can anyone shed some light onto this topic for me as well?

You receive BAH for your wife while in your training. I am not for sure about the seperation pay I was thinking that was only for when you are deployed.

You'll get BAH based on your home zip code. No family separation allowance, that's for when you're mobilized.

On another thread, a forum member advised you can get "Stripes for Knowledge where if you learn and test out on several basic soldier tasks you acquire a higher grade."
How do you prepare for this and when would you be tested? (Is there a book you can study prior to enlistment or is this something you learn during training?)
