I reenlisted in the VA Guard in Sep 06 for MP and then the unit I enlisted for disbanded on the 1st drill and shifted to two different units at oppasit ends of the state. Due to this I was given theopportunity to change the MOS that I wanted to come back in for. I was accepted to the only MI unit in the state and waiting for a school date when NOW I am being INVOLUNTARY reassigned to a CAV Unit for deployment. I have NO MOS that I am qualified in as I have been out of the Active Army since 1985 and the last MOS that I held was done away with the M60A3 Main Battle Tank. I am told ALL E6 and below are being reassigned from our unit to the CAV unit for deployment reguardless of our MOS's or lack thereof. HELP:mad:

Involuntary.... it means what it says.
A lot of E5's and below get shafted when it comes to state movements and deployments. If you didnt want to go, I feel sorry for you. But take this as an opportunity to better yourself as a soldier. To learn different aspects of multiple fields.

Thats just what happens man. On my last deployment we took every E6 and below from the chemical company and sent them to 88M school to make them truck drivers so they could deploy with us. Of course, once we got back they went back to their regular unit.

We had a handful of 88Ms that had to do an infantry course before we went off to Cuba as well.

I feel for you. I got put into my unit not two weeks ago and I got a call from my NCOIC saying that while I came in as supply There is a chance I will be one of the many soldiers below e-5 to be sent to 88M school as soon as im done with my AIT. Mainly becasue we are deploying 3 months after I get back from AIT.

Im not sure right off hand its in all my paper work. And yes I can get the driver badge but id prefer to not be a rolling target. I would take anything over being a driver. Cav scout military police.
