Is there a list of medical conditions out there that prevent joining? What types are on the list?

Your recruiter will give you a medical questionairre - fill out everything. They will tell you if you can join. My suggestion is don't diqualify yourself based on something you have heard. Only the people in the recruiting field (recruiters, MEPS counselors, MEPS doctors, etc) know what disqualifies you and what doesn't.

Like SPC Dickerson is advising you; don't disqualify yourself by what you hear. Have the recruiter check with the MEPS doctors before you accept anything as a disqualifier.
