Freedom of speech is a right we all joined to protect. Just because I dont agree with what they are saying, doesn't mean I dont thinkthey should be able to say it.
Its when I see stuff like out in Washington State where the people were burning a fake body of a US soldier that was being hung, and an American flag. Just makes me sick.

I think that people with that view simply don't understand what it means to serve one's country. It is a selfless act that puts the safety of the country above your own. It is the courage of those in uniform that defend the freedom of those who wish to speak out against the military and their government. That is the right they have because of people like us.

The previous posters put it very well. Unfortunately there are dirtbags in every organization and of course people are going to look at the bad and not the good. Thats how this country is now. The mostly liberal media wants to act like if it wasn't for us soldiers everything would just be dandy and they'd be living their same pampered little lives. They refuse to look at the obvious fact that without people like us they would be forced to pray 9 times a day and put veil's on their women. These people are ungrateful, scared, and dillusional and I wish they would move away at least for a while to see how good they have it here. Unfortunately violence and war are the only way things can be handled at times. It has always been that way since the beginning of mankind. Im a little pissed off as you can see. Real tired of this. Miss basic training where we couldn't watch the news or read newspapers.

Sometimes I wonder if it would just be better if everyone in America had to at some point in their life spend a little time serving their country. That of course might be unconstitutional, but would sure get rid of a lot of whining. Our country has some major issues of living in a bubble... we sit in our protected bubble and only focus our attention on selected information, most people never really understanding what is really going on. We forget so easily how much of a world is out there besides our own.

When you have time in service, you'll find yourself looking at these people and laughing.
Do what I do, when someone criticizes the military, ask them where they served. If they say nowhere, then tell them to use their freedom of speech on a topic they are qualified to debate.
The military is a brotherhood. You will meet people you will stay in contact with for the rest of your life. You will know the guy next to you will have your back, and you'll have his, no matter how crazy the situation is. He will fight to the death for you, and you'll find yourself fighting for him.
Where in the civilian world, outside of law enforcement/fire departments, can people say that?
Let these people say want they want. You'll know the only reason they're saying those things is because of people like you and me. Soldiers. Many have come before us, many will come after. Protecting the ideals of this country. Whenever they say something bad. Smile to yourself, and say if it wasn't for me and those who fought before me, this person would be speaking German/Russian/with a British accent, and they might get imprisoned for saying their opinion.
It takes a special kind of person to do what we do. Realize their is nothing to feel about being in the Army than pride and honor, and negative comments don't really register anymore.
Just my 2 cents.

I hate how Anti-Bush people targets the people serving in the military. That's like hating all Germans because of ******. Pure ignorance my friend.

I just hope that people who say bad things stop runing there mouths if they have nothing better to say. I've had people say to me that i shouldn't join the army , because it's bad . i might get sent to war , and they treat you really bad. it's not worth it . Other stuff like that. I just tell them they don't know what they are talking about. I know that it's not true. Yeah you might get sent to war , but that's part of being in the military. I don't worry about that to much , because the most important thing is to serve my country. Just by doing that makes me happy. Hopefully someday the people who are saying this stuff will realize that they are wrong. Anyways thankyou so much to all the people who are serving our country. I really appreciate it. I'm so excited because three more years of highschool , and i get to join. Can't wait. Like i was saying thankyou , and may God bless all of you always.

America is beautiful BECAUSE people will defend the freedom of speech of others! You dont have to like or even listen to them but you do have to allow them there say. That is what we are all serving for.The main thing is that YOUR voice be louder then theres through your actions...Good luck

They can say what they want, personally,I would like to knock out their chic-lets! They just dont get it, they want to go hold some sign up and think they are changing the world, when the real people that are changing the world are on this sight ready to answer your questions! Selfless service is something some folks just dont get ! Did you ever notice how it is so easy to name a famous anti war advocate, but it is hard to mention a pro war celebrity? Of course no body wants war,but you never see a pro military Hollywood type on the boob tube.

Of course no body wants war,but you never see a pro military Hollywood type on the boob tube. You are absolutly right. I really agree with what you said.I am sure that if all these anti war people spent one day in iraq just like our soldiers are doing know i'm pretty sure they would change their minds pretty quick. I 've had people come up to0 me and tell me i shouldn't waste my time joining the army because it's not worth it. I just ignore them because that's their opinion not mine. They haven't even joined the army themselves so that's why i just ignore them because honestly they don't know what they are talking about. I have made up my mind as soon as i graduate from highschool i plan on joining the national gaurd. Anyways what you said is absolutly true. You could not of said it better!

I think its all a bunch off horseshit. People want an easy ride, and they get that ride on the backs of the men and women who are willing to protect and serve.
