My 17 year old son has joined the Maine ANG and I couldn't be prouder. The hardest thing I've ever done is sign the papers. I'll admit I cried as I did it. My young man is leaving for basic June 14, he is headed for Ft. Leonard Wood. He will do AIT next summer after high school. After high school he will going to college to study Criminal Justice. His MOS is 31B Military Police. He goes on his first drill the end of this month as he is in RSP. My son thought long and hard before making this decision, and he did not make it lightly. I have always been proud of him, but never as proud as I am now.

Congratulations to you and him both. About the paperwork, I know it was pretty strenuous. I do my FAFSA every year for college and that's a pretty big packet of stuff to fill out, but MEPS sure gave it a run for it's money.

Congrats from this vet who's going back in himself. My brother was an MP and loved the job. Serving your country and community is great for any young person. Criminal Justice was something I've always been interested in, I just happened to end up in computers. :D
