Some people have said in this Forum that the NG has taken them to many different countries and cities around the world, which I think is a great experience. My question is as follows : My son is with the Georgia National Guard and his MOS is 21B, so it means that he can do his yearly 2 week training during the summer in another part of the country or abroad?
Please explain.

It could. You do your Annual Training (AT) with your unit. Where they go, you go. With some exceptions i'm sure. The unit i'll be assigned to has a past of going to a local post each year. They were finally scheduled to go to California this coming summer, but it got changed back to that local post. I know a state just south of me has a past of often going to Germany for their AT. Just depends.

yes he can depending on the unit . I was in the georgia guard for a while and we went to fort Irin for support of the units getting ready for deployment.
Now im in the Maine guard and we are going to the southern border for summer camp.

I would think they would goto ft. stuart or ft. benning since they are close. I am in central Iowa and goto Ft. McCoy for mine.

I was with the 2/138th FA here in Lexington, KY and during the early 90's, we always seemed to go to Ft. Stewart in GA. It always seemed to rain about feeding time in the evening, I got chased by a boar once, and I'd always make a wrong turn and get lost. :)
