I am a USMC gulf war combat veteran, currently 37, re-enlistment code RE-1A. I am currently a technical professional for a well established organization.
I would very much like to contribute my skills to the National Guard, but long deployment is an issue as I would not be able to afford the pay cut, especially w/2 teenage children.
Is there a way that I can serve in some type of technical or intelligence capacity without deploying for extended periods? I have talked w/local recruiter, but I was less than confident that this point was considered critical.
Can you please give me some direction.
