View Full Version : Am I eligible for MGIB?

I haven't been able to find a straight answer to this one yet. The Captain at my ROTC BN says that I am eligible for MGIB. I am not so sure of this.

I enlisted last year into the MA ARNG and went only to BCT. This month I contracted as an SMP cadet. I know that SMP cadets are allowed to retain their MGIB money, however, since I never MOS q'ed, I was never eligible in the first place, and therefore I am not so sure I am entitled to it.

Any one got an idea?

To be eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill Selective Reserve (MGIB-SR)
Enlisted soldiers must have a MOS, Officers and Officer Candidates must have completed IADT or must complete Officer Basic Course (OBC). Here's a link to more information about the GI Bill:
