Split Option

I enlisted under the split option and ship to basic June 14th 2006. I Graduated in May of 2006 . I only need to be back for about a month and an half after basic to take care of a few things. My recruiter is telling me I have to go to AIT next Summer and cannot go any earlier. Is this true or is there a way to get an earlier training seat? My MOS is 91W.

If you didn't enlist under the Split Option, then you will not be allowed to go home between basic training and AIT. If you need to change your Basic Training start date, you should be able to do that, but you still won't be able to come home inbetween baisic and AIT, unless it was in your contract when you enlisted.

i am 17 and i leave june 12th, they usually have spilt op for people like me i am a junior i come back next year for school then i leave after next school year for my ait training. so no they have u ship then because that is when everyone is. oh and i am a 91w too.

My recruiter called a Major while I was in the office yesterday and I finally got the answer I was looking for. They will have to look for available training seats as soon as I get back from basic. If there are seats available I can go whenever there is a seat open. I do not have to wait until next summer if I can find an earlier open training seat. Thanks for the responses.
