Does the National Guard have any sniper training courses/snipers mixed in with their infantry units or is that only active duty Army and Marine units??

Yes they do. I will see what I can find and post you a link of a story about the training, and the training of the Designated Marksman also. ( DM's are not the same as Snipers but they get access to the M-14's).

M-14's...ugh..man do i love that rifle..thanks for tryen to help out. Im wonderin how hard is it to get expert marksman? I know the numbers but idk how good you have to be. I've been shooting very limited amounts for most of my life and i think im pretty darn good but idk how good is good really..
edit: i thought the M-14 was only issued to snipers..just the snipers could pick different loadouts(or get assigned them)..guess i was wrong..hehe

I have nover not quailfied Expert with the M-16, but some people do have a hard time....I shoot a lot in the civilian side of the house now, I shoot a AR-15 in the A-2 config. If you have a chance to do much shooting on your own, try getting some Alternate Course C targets. They look just like the pop ups you would shoot your BRM qual's in basic training, but you only do it at 25 meters and they dont pup up. The ARMY teaches BRM kinda weird, but it works, so just stick to the basics in Breathing and sight picture with whatever rifle you use now.
The M-14 is not the primary Sniper rifle, most of them have been converted over for the DM's, the main Sniper rifle is a Bolt action built on a Rem 700 action. You may want to try looking up topics on the AMU ( army marksmanship unit) for better info.
Good luck.
