This is an uncommon concern, but I run about 25 miles each week and I've been told that in basic (Ft. Jackson for me) we only run about 14 miles each week... so my question is: Will I be able to go running in the one hour of free time they give us before lights out? Or will I just have to get comfortable with the idea of running less?

If you know then please respond to this, I don't want to loose any running abilities in BCT and would love to know if there is anything I could do to prevent that from happening.

Thanks!

Chances are - the answer would be no. But I may be wrong on that.

Reason being, if you got hurt (twisted ankle, etc) you're in for a world of ****.
You weren't in a controlled training environment, blah, blah, blah...

When I was in the 82nd, we had this PLT SGT that ran on his own after end of day release. He was in excellent shape but he actually got called in front of the SGT MAJOR and was told not to do it. Sad, I know - but the military would not want to be held responsible for something you did outside of their controlled training environment.

First of all - Ask...never hurts.
