MEPS is a Military Entrance Processing Station. All potential soldiers get a physical which is more invasive than what you might get at a family doctor, but it's not so bad. The basics: height/weight (must meet the standard for your service of choice), blood work (test for STDs, pregnancy or any diseases that might prohibit service), motor skills and strength tests, eyesight and hearing tests, etc.
As a female, you will receive a pregnancy test, but you will not get any contraceptives. Several Guardsmen have private doctors through their civilian employers' insurance. I am such a soldier and I continued my birth control through my civilian doctor. However, it is important to inform the Army of any medications you take. Medications, including contraceptive hormones can affect your ability to train.
In general, MEPS is not a place for modesty. Unless you grew up with a lot of sisters or spent a lot of time at camp, this might be your first time in your underwear in front of others (don't worry... the males and are in separate areas). Most MEPS stations process several potential soldiers at once, so you will likely be with several other women as you're checked for fallen arches, scoliosis and all the other things the doc checks for when you're not fully clothed.
Not to worry. Your experience at MEPS might be long and boring and maybe a little unconfortable, but millions of soldiers have done it before you. It's just the first baby step in what can be an amazing adventure in the Guard. Best of luck to you.
