View Full Version : Any truth to this?

Hi all,

I have a 17 y/o daughter that was just arrested for a DWI (Driving while Intoxicated)....bad choices and wrong peers...but after my 4 years in the Army (Infantry) and the discipline I was taught (I Loved it) I suggested that she think about serving in the military.

A Local Recruiter here in Louisiana told her and another 19 y/o that the Gaurd would "Get Rid Of" their DWI when they joined... I KNOW that is not true.

Any help? What are the stipulations?

Thank you for any help,

Concerned Father of Three Teens

The Guard nor Recruiters can change what is on someone's record.

All I can imagine is that the Recruiter could get a waiver for the incident, so it wouldn't prevent her from enlisting. That must be what he meant. Sometimes people have slang that can be very misleading to others.
